This year’s Friday night Cruisin’ Grand Nitro Night Cacklefest was bigger than last year’s event. Founder and organizer Steve Waldron was able to bring together the sights and sounds of drag racing’s Golden Era of the ‘60s with help from the City of Escondido, Escondido Police Department, Fire Department, City Council, Grand Ave. merchants and friends. Nitro Night attracted 28 Top Fuel Dragsters, Top Fuel Altereds and Funny Cars.
