Brandon Zambrano, owner of Saints Motorsports, set out to build a one-of-a-kind ride that was as at home cruising the boulevard as it was tearing up the track. Once he saw the new ‘10 Camaro he knew his search was over and ordered one of the first off the lot. He also knew that we wasn’t going to be content with the ordinary styling or the stock performance, so doing what he does best, he turned to the custom market to shape this ride into the mean performance machine that he envisioned.
Being in this business, we get to see a lot of really nice cars. But every once in a while a car really sort of comes out of the blue and makes a huge impression on the whole staff. Recently, we received an unassuming package in the mail from John Jackson and inside were a couple of discs with features he had shot at the Goodguys Show in Columbus. They were all really nice cars, but Tommy Carver’s ‘49 Cadillac was a grand slam homerun.
Ron Segal from Santa Clarita, California, is a retired custom homebuilder, Vietnam vet and cowboy. His real passion, though, has long been custom cars and trucks. Ever since he attended Palos Verdes High School in ‘60s, Ron has been a custom car enthusiast and builder. So what do you look for when shopping raw material for a new project? Would it be safe to assume that the majority of us focus on body condition? More specifically, we want as little rust as possible, right? Careful selection of the right raw material can save the builder time. However, in some rare cases this particularity can actually slow the process. It all depends upon one’s willingness to work. While most of us are shopping, Jeff “A-Bone” Yocum of Goose Creek, South Carolina, has already dragged his home, and you can bet that he’s already busy in his garage.
